Goals


A midwife of technical expertise

The undergraduate program aims to prepare graduates to practice at the full scope of the Certified Professional Midwife credential through the demonstration of broad, integrative, and specialized knowledge.

 

Goal 1: To complete Phase 3 of MCU with a GPA of 3.9

I am currently holding a Cumulative GPA of a 3.9

Goal 2: To complete all phase 3 numbers by the end of my second term in April.

I have currently attended 8 births in phase 3

Goal 3: To pass the Phase 3 competency in August 2023.

I regularly look over my competency training skill form and plan skills days with my preceptors to prepare me for phase 3 assessment and for NARM and Licensure.

A midwife of professional excellence

 

The undergraduate program aims to advance equity and access in midwifery, as well as to prepare graduates to serve in diverse communities in culturally safe, ethical, and collaborative ways.

 

Goal 1: To complete my COCs by April.

My first COC is due on 12/22.

Goal 2: To continue to foster and grow relationships with midwives in the South Sound area.

I have been attending peer review and community midwifery meetings to connect with local students and midwives.

Goal 3: To connect with the LGBTQIA+ birth community in Tacoma to foster relationships and to better understand the needs of the community.

I have been working closely with a doula in the LGBTQIA+ community and going to local meet ups to better connect with the LGBTQIA+ birth community.

A midwife of personal greatness

The undergraduate program aims to prepare graduates for reflective practice and a perpetual commitment to advance quality and professionalism within the direct-entry midwifery community.

 

Goal 1: To continue my growth and education as a birth worker

I have attended additional educations outside of MCU to further my overall growth.

Goal 2: To look at my actions at births with in introspective attitude and to ask myself, what could I have done better

I have started a birth journal where I can ask myself these questions and look back to see how I have grown

Goal 3: To give myself grace when I make mistakes and to learn from them for the future.

I have started to practice Reiki to better find balance in my life and to help me meditate on areas of growth.
